My 9 year old hiked multiple parks in Utah and even jumped a few rocks in a river without her feet getting wet. I would not say these are waterproof, but they are durable, comfortable and great kids sneakers.

    My 12 year old has narrow feet that are on the small side (still wears a 2&1/2 to 3). I purchased these in a 3 and they fit well with just a tad bit of growing room. She loves the ties since she can cinch them up so they're tight enough. I love that they're waterproof with decent tread at a good price.

    They are very comfortable. The kids really appreciate the fastening system—instead of having to tie laces, you simply pull them tight until they lock into place. This is incredibly convenient, especially for school, and makes getting dressed much faster. They also offer a good level of water resistance, though we do give them an extra spray with a protective coating if the rain gets heavy. Of course, you can't stand around in puddles for long periods like you would in a pair of rain boots!

    I got these shoed for my daughter thinking they would be nice because they don't need tied but the string stretches so big til you get them tight enough to wear that you have to tuck it in quite a lot… she actually would pick other shoes over these to. wear because she didn't like them and didn't like how the tongue felt on them.
